Social Studies: Next week we will be working on our Ch. 11 Patriot vs. Loyalist Debate. This will be a performance assessment for this chapter instead of a traditional assessment.

Religion: Students will discuss the mystery of the Holy Trinity-One God in three divine persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Science: Students will use www.spaceplace.nasa.gov and other classroom resources to research a planet of their choosing. Students will complete an informational brochure of their chosen planet.

Family Life: Students will examine messages communicated by the media. They will learn the importance of good communication and practice good listening skills. Students will also learn about the changes that occur during puberty and the importance of dealing with the stress of maturing.

English/Language Arts: Hello HRS families. Students have been doing a fantastic job demonstrating public speaking skills using PVLEGS. I’m also impressed by the depth of learning they have shown in the Genius Hour unit, and in their presentations. We will begin next week finishing student presentations. Following this, students will write their 6th grade teacher letter, which is given to their homeroom teacher next year. If time allows, we will begin a reader’s workshop using the short story The Circuit. Have a wonderful weekend.

Have a great weekend!
